Hi,
Went to EL Huie on Sunday and found water pipit (1), common snipe (Thanks
Tom!), eastern meadowlarks, eastern bluebirds, eastern phoebe, Northern
shoveler, ring-necked duck, lesser scaup (blue bills), song sparrows, and a
'few' Canada geese. Nice place to visit.
The wetland nature trail was neat - a fellow local birder (name??) found a
hermit thrush. We also had nesting brown-headed nuthatches, white breasted
nuthatch, song & swamp sparrow, yellow-bellied sapsucker. Goldfinches, white
throated sparrow at the feeders, house finch, purple finch, chippies, plus
the rest of the usuals.
Went to Lake Blalock(?) and saw the buffleheads, cormorants, a 'few' more
geese, brown thrasher, bluebirds, red-headed woodpecker, etc.
Note: I don't get enough birding in the area, so it's always a treat.
Thanks again to 'Tom S.' and the other local birder at the nature trail.
