Curious: did you benchmark (or consider benchmarking) GNU/Linux on the same platform as the NT box? If you're comparing NT/Solaris, you might want to throw GNU/Linux into the mix.

Anyone out there got benchmarks for GNU/Linux v. NT on comperable hardware for SAS?
