SASPros:
Up till now, we've been strictly mainframe SAS users, but our Enterprise
Guide license has opened other possibilities, particularly with regards
to DB/2 (before the EG license, we only did embedded SQL in PL/I or C).
Could anyone accessing DB/2 on the mainframe for these two scenarios:
* SAS on the DeskTop To DB/2 on mainframe using the SAS visual tools
(SQL Query Window, ViewTable or Query Window in SAS/Enterprise Guide)
* SAS App Server & SAS/Intranet Server server (Win2k, IIS 5.0) To DB/2
on mainframe (with SAS's help, we are web enabbling our Data Warehouse)
Provide me with some configuration information -- I have questions
regarding how the DRDA connection to DB/2 is made (DB2Connect, other
alternatives).
Also, could someone tell me the advantages/disadvantages of Libname
Access vs SQL PassThru ? We are running SAS v8.2 on the mainframe,
Server (Win2k) and WorkStation (mostly NT workstation). We have all the
needed components (SAS/Connect, ACCESS, etc on all platforms).
Any and all comments/suggestions/ideas will be gratefully appreciated !
Thank You.
