Today, before the storm Douglas County had (and what a storm it was! no damage here, though), I noticed the red-bellied woodpecker pecking on one of our maple trees and on our pecan tree in the front yard. I went out to water the flowers on the front porch (they're under an overhang and don't get the rain) and saw the baby robin in the nest. It's the first time I've seen it since it hatched. I believe there is only one. Earlier this week, I saw both the male and female in the nest, so more may be on the way. :>) I also put a tin of water below the nest for the robin. I also have a larger pie tin in the flower bed(mentioned below) for the other birds. The birds love the suet I put out over the flower bed in the backyard. They have gobbled up the second one I've put out in about two weeks. Hope everyone has a good week of birding!

Elizabeth Douglasville, Douglas County, Georgia
