I just received my 8.2 on Wednesday and have only upgraded one machine so
far. It seems to be working fine. But I did notice that SAS just died the
same way, briefly flashing up the starting image due to a typo (unbalanced
quote) in the SASv8.cfg I had made. Once I resolved this, startup has been
fine.

Yes, the data in our current setinit is June 14, 2001. There have been none
of the usual warning messages as the grace period starts. There have been
different symptoms following different attempts. We have uninstalled and
reinstalled numerous times, including with the virus scan turned off.
Sometime SAS just stares out you from the postcard. Sometimes it just
disappears. Sometimes during the installation process it says that we are
past the current expiration date, sometime in 1993. Our NT 4.0 stations are
OK, but the Win 2000 stations are not working.
