Now we're really speculating. But, as long as we are, what new capabilities would justify the label of version 9? Version 7 was a beta for version 8, in which SAS introduced a host of new features (support for long names, ODS, more). What major innovations would bump the major version level up again? Or, would it be because SI is going public and they need to start versioning like MicroSoft?
