Subject: Re: Accessing SAS-L via Web Browser

Rob,

As I said early, I have posted 3 alternatives to deja.com on my web site.

Look in the Table of Contents, and in the section "SAS-L Stuff" you will see four methods to access SAS-L via a Web Browser.

The 1st one (http://www.listserv.uga.edu/archives/sas-l.html) seems to be the best as well as the "Real McCoy". You will need to register via the web if you haven't already.

Then when you get to the SAS-L list, click on the 2nd button (Sort by DATE), and then after that click on the 5th button to the right (Sort by TIME), and the list will have the most recent on top which the way I prefer reading SAS-L.

You will need to refresh the list if you want to see newer listings.

The mailandnews.com is also pretty good as well. It seems to have an "AUTOFRESH" feature which appears to update your list within the browser without having to refresh manually. However, the loading and refreshing seems a bit slow but that could be that I am behind a firewall but not sure.

I haven't tried using mailandnews.com for replying/posting but is seems to be OK. However, you will need to register before you can do so. In fact, I believe you have to register (free) before you can use this service.

The other alternatives are not as good as the above two choices, and for now I am somewhat satisified. As for deja.com and Google, I guess that remains to be seen as to whether they will get better and when ????

Good Luck and hope the additional links I provided prove worth the effort I spent scrounging for them last night.
