Richard,
I don't know if that would be such a good idea to allow SAS to
turn into an extensible system that allows the user their syntax
of choice. It may be desirable to the user who is writing the
program, but how about the person to whom falls the
responsibility of maintaining the program after the original
author has moved on? In that case, you will need someone who
knows the SAS language well enough to know what can be done
with it, and who knows the syntax of the dialect that the
author used. Could get to be quite a mess.
