Subject: Benefits of UNIX as platform for a data warehouse
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi.

As part of a project to upgrade our UNIX server and move from a collection of flat files to a business focused data warehouse, I have to write a business case outlining the benfits of UNIX as a platform for a data warehouse. I obviously have more than enough literature from my SAS Institute and SUN account managers, but this is all written from a sales point of view and is fairly high level with no real detail. Does anyone have any real benefits I could discuss, possibly from their own experience?

Thanks.
