Not in SAS, AFAIK, unless there's some new magic in v8. Check under the
LIBNAME statement reference for engine specifications.
DBMSCopy (Conceptual Software: http://www.conceptual.com/) will eat and
translate between various SAS dataset formats, as well as other data
formats.
In general, you need a SAS transport data set, created on the
originating host system.
