Hope this isn't inappropriate for a 'birders' list serve, but...
Early last evening, was walking my dogs on the outskirts of the Bobby Jones golf course (across from my apartment -- smack in the middle of Atlanta!), and ran into another dog walker who told me that for two nights in a row, while walking her dog on the golf course (just after dark), she had an encounter (from a short distance) with a coyote! It even followed her and her dog - as she began to run away from it... and her dog had a rather extreme reaction. She couldn't quite believe it, so called the Wildlife Society only to find out that indeed, wild coyotes are on the increase within the city. Apparently, with the increased habitat loss outside the city limits, coyotes are 'moving in'.
Wild turkeys.... wild coyotes.... what next?!?
