That is a valid concern... but suppose I see an ADOBE logo on a website
telling me I need to download Acrobat Reader to read whatever pdf docs are
in the said website. and suppose I get acrobat reader or I already have it
and I then look at their pdf documents. The fact that they are using
Acrobat and creating pdf documents does not mean that they are creating
"High Quality" pdf documents the way ADOBE would perhaps like people to do
... but it is not a reflection on ADOBE is it?
The fact that SI has no control over all the websites of SAS programmers
and users is probably the key and most reasonable people would realize
that. Removing a logo doesn't stop someone from deciding if a product is
good or bad based on what they see/read/experience at a website. For
example: suppose I search the web for something about SAS and go to one of
the websites that pops up in the results. Now suppose the website belongs
to an unscrupulous type who either knows liitle or nothing about SAS but is
pretending to ... and in the process has posted all kinds of tips or code
or whatever that doesn't work and makes me think SAS is not such a great
product. So you think the lack of a logo alone will make me think "oh its
probably just this site and not the product" ?
I could see SI having a fit if people who are not SAS certified or QPs use
those logos, but that isn't the issue here.
