Although it appears to be an inconsistency it is not.
There were some subjects that we never saw in person and only got
information retrospectively from informants and medical records. For this
particular person, we were able to diagnose as an AD case from an informant
questionnaire. According to the questionnaire this person met criteria for
dementia before she enter the study.
I guess it would be Dr. Brookmeyer's decision whether he wants to include
this subject in the analyses.
