If you're interested in a class on the basics of birding, Emory University offers one at their Evening at Emory program. Here's the info:

"Beginning Bird Watching" Four Thursday evening classes, each one followed by a Saturday morning field trip. Next course starts Thursday October 5th. The cost is $70. For more information call Evening at Emory at 404/727-6000 Class is limited to 15 students so if you're interested call soon. It tends to fill up.

Good birding to ya! Jerry Brunner
