Subject: roseate spoonbill

August 19, 2000 One roseate spoonbill seen at airport pond on shoulder of
Newton Road just north of the Albany airport.  The bird was seen with wood
storks and a group of mixed herons.  The water level at the pond is very
low.  Without rain, the pond may be dry within a few days.  Bird was first
seen by Mike Keenan and Alan Ashley.
