Ryan and everyone else,
We are running Peoplesoft on an Oracle 8 system. However, our project staff
are extremely reluctant to allow any access to Peoplesoft other than through
PS security. SQR access is restricted to project staff only (and not all of
them) because of the real damage to the system that an unwary user can do.
All the uses of SAS with Peoplesoft that I've seen so far make use of
intermediate tables moved to another platform like Ryan describes. However,
I'm interested in more direct ways both because I keep finding new things in
SAS 8 and because I'm working with project staff to try to create reporting
files within Peoplesoft. We already have one for limited use but I can't get
at it directly. Hence my questions about ODBC and stored procedures.
