Ivo,
I strongly recommend you RTFM with Unix. It is the blue installation
instructions book that should have arrived with your media.
Installing the SAS System on Unix is not the same as installing it on Windows.
Windows allows you to copy installed folders or (better still) use the
reinstall support functionality to copy installations between DASD or logical
machines.
Unix on the other hand has a number of compiled binary modules, most
particularly in the Base and Access products that won't work if your paths
change. You must run .sasadmin and follow the documentation to relink the
modules appropriately. (I note your recent mails regarding access to Oracle
problems.) You can't reliably overcome this problem with a simple -set
sasroot = /opt/sas/sas612 in your config file as you can on other platforms.
I'm happy to assist if you want to email me off list, but please get to your
manual first.
regards
David

Subject: Moving Oracle
"THIS MESSAGE ORIGINATED ON THE INTERNET - Please read the detailed

HP-UX 11.0, SASv8 and Oracle 7.3.4 are installed at my site. Does anybody
know what the impact will be when I move Oracle to another location (another
server or physical disk space). Do I need to install SASv8 all over or isnt
that necessary.
