GABO
This week I camped on Cumberland Island for three days. These are the
highlights:
Parulas and Yellow-thrtd warblers were most common and all were very busy
feeding young. It looked like they had a good year nesting.
Many:
gnatcatchers
cardinals
carolina wrens
Others:
cowbirds (I would like to know what nests they parasitize)
redwing blackbirds
screech owl (in camp)
grackles
mockingbird
Over water:
many white ibis
pelicans
cattle egrets
2 skimmers
least tern colony at sea camp area (Is there any management of this colony to
keep raccoons away from the nests?)
A few more but nothing out of the ordinary. No painted buntings.
