Subject: error message not showing up in log, V 8

Has anyone else had this happen in version 8? One of our analysts submitted a program, and got a message in the log that the step was not executed because of errors. But there was no message above that in the log indicating the error. She exited SAS, started it up again, and then got the relevant error message in the log -- a variable name being used that was not in the dataset. Weird.
