That depends on what you are doing with SAS! If you use only BASE, maybe the limitation of 200 bytes per string variable was a thing which disturbed. It is more than 32000 now. Maybe the better "windows-like" outfit is important, or the improved editor? If you are making GRAPHs or use HTML, there are big improvements. E.g. the GIF / JPG drivers are much better! The SAS/AF and SAS/EIS environment has many improvements and all looks nicer! If your main thing is reporting: the reporting interfaces are improved, e.g. you can output WEB-ready reports! Or have a look at the SAS Enterprise Reporter. ..... .... You see, it is important to know, what you want, because there are so many things which are much better now!
