Subject: how to find a variable in a spreadsheet
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Go to edit-options-general and click "alpha" in variable list. Then go to utilities-variables, choose the variable you want, then click "go to."

Scott

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Is there a way to automatically scroll to a particular variable while in Data View? I have a file with thousands of variables, and would like to go directly to the portion of the spreadsheet containing the variable I am interested in. (I'm running SPSS 10.0 under Windows NT Server 4.0). TIA, Leanne
