I am far from a MicroSloth fan, but all major software has lots of bugs. The
63K error rate for Windows 2000 is pretty steep until you consider how large
Windows 2000 is- the point is that MS found that many almost before they
shipped using some sort of automagic testing system and announced it: that
in itself is a first at MS.
Good as SAS is about bugs, SAS has it's share even as we speak.... Just look
at the usage notes....
I am running Windows 2000 on one of my servers (not by choice- but that is
another story). It so far has been as reliable as Win NT 4.0 sp6. I have it
squawking back and forth to my Linux server and other workstations. I do not
have SAS running on it ($$$). Like most MS products it is bigger then it's
predecessors. Lots more features....
My two gripes are it is still somewhat driver poor and it has once again
reorganized where user profiles and such are
(sigh).
If you must run Windows 2000 wait for the second service pack is out. You
will sleep better.
