Subject: SAS conversion: let's discuss GLOBAL SCL CHANGE
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
there are ways to achieve global changes of scl, within display manager
A macro can be issued in the command line......
However, I think to make such a global change, it will need a leap of faith
and/or a lot of confidence.

Heck... we are just getting rid of 5.18 this month! Migration to V6 in a
large shop was not easy (nor did SAS make it very seamless). I'm planning
to hold out as long as possible until the rest of you find all the bugs.
And then, the strategy will be (since code changes are required anyway) to
look for opportunity to move away from SAS.
A simple Find & Replace utility that could do mass changes on SOURCE and
SCL enteries would minimize my frustration. But since catalogs were
invented ~10yrs ago...no such thing.
