I will on both counts. I've already run through it once and gotten the 1/2 result, but I want to make sure my code is clean and my explanation of the errors in John's simulation are as complete and understandable as possible before I post it. I just can't do that right now.

You're right, it did. Although my initial intuition proved correct, there were some subtleties within the probabilities of this problem that escaped me at first.
