Dear Colleagues,

We hope that you saw your invitation, posted on this list on Jan. 14, to attend the SAS-L RAL/BOF at SUGI 25. In case you might have missed it, here again are the specifics:

What: SUGI 25 SAS-L BOF When: Tuesday, April 11, 2000 Where: Indiana Convention Center Room 116 Time: 12:15 - 1:15

We certainly hope to see you there, and know that you will find it both informative and entertaining. If you saw the invitation, hopefully you noticed that one of the big events is the announcement of the SAS Institute Consultant of the Year (SICY).

What you didn't see, however, was the announcement that the best nomination for the SICY is going to win a **free** seat to the SAS Institute class of their choice (up to 3 days in length)!

We know how busy you are, but won't you please take a minute to nominate a SAS Institute technical support group staff person who has provided you with exceptional help. Please go to this URL to cast your nomination:

http://lark.cc.ukans.edu/~ippr/sugi25/saslbof.htm

The person you nominate can be anyone in the SAS Institute Technical Support group who has gone above and beyond the call of duty, and whom you feel deserves recognition for that fact.

The SAS Institute Consultant of the Year (SICY) will be awarded at the SUGI 25 SAS-L RAL. With our deepest appreciation, we will recognize their outstanding contributions. They will receive a certificate, the official SAS-L BOF t-shirt, and the accolades of SAS-Lers and the SI staff alike.

In 1996, the members of SAS-L selected Donna Woodward, out of 16 nominees, for the award. Donna's nomination read, 'Not only is she technically proficient, but she treats each user with courtesy, patience, and respect. Her commitment to excellent service is recognized and appreciated by the entire SAS community.'"

Here are the dates for nominations and votes:

February 1 -- NOMINATIONS due February 4 -- REQUEST FOR VOTES (RFV) March 1 -- VOTES due

Thanks so much for your consideration of this. We hope you will find it an opportunity to recognize someone in the SAS Institute Technical Support Group that has lived up to the SAS-L standard of helpfulness.

Best Regards, Sally Muller and Ray Pass (SAS-L RAL/BOF Planning Committee)

* Our thanks to Tom Henry of SAS Institute Training for making the reward of a free SI class for the best SICY nomination possible.
