Subject: Using the 'HOST ISPF' editor in MVS V8 Interactive SAS

It seems that version 8 production of SAS on MVS still does not allow users to delete all program editor lines that contain some string.

However, if you bring up interactive SAS from ISPF 6, ie ex sas, then you can switch to the ISPF editor from the SAS program editor, by typing 'HOST' on the command line. Entering the following command will delete all lines that contain the string error.

x all;f ERROR all;flip; del x all;

Incidentally

x all -- collapses the text in the editor f ERROR -- expands all lines that have the string ERROR flip - shows you the non ERROR lines del x all; deltetes the ERROR lines
