I don't think that you can create XLS - files under UNIX, but you can use CSV
(Character delimited) files, which you can import in EXCEL. As delimiter e.g.
";" is ok. You have to take care of the formats, EXCEL is expecting. E.g. if you
have "," as decimal "point" in EXCEL, you should use COMMAX. as SAS format, or a
customized PICTURE format. Also DATE values: I think a french or german EXCEL
should use DDMMYY10. as input.
